Karaka School believes in growing leaders. We are committed to providing diverse opportunities for our students to develop their leadership potential. These include:
- Student Council
- Environmental Council
- Community Leaders
- Librarians
- Sport Captains
- House Captains
- Head Students
Everyday we provide opportunities for our students to take on areas of responsibility . In the junior school this begins at class room level before moving to team and school level as they move through the school and develop condfidence. These responsibilities can include being responsible for taking messages to the office, ringing the school bell or answering the phones at reception. All students are encouraged to take turns hosting assemblies at team level initially and then whole school.
Our Intermediate students are also encouraged to take part in leadership development activities such as the William Pike Challenge.
