Karaka School is situated in a beautiful tree studded rural location on the Pukekohe Highway (State Highway 22).  The school is located 4km from the Southern Motorway's Drury off ramp and is 8km travelling from Pukekohe. 

Karaka School endeavours to provide a supportive and caring educational environment where parental and community interest  and involvement is welcomed.  This is assisted by an experienced  staff, whose service in the school ranges from under one year to fourteen years. 

The staff and BOT of Karaka School encourage the highest standards in all that is undertaken, emphasising a traditional, yet well balanced curriculum and endeavouring to develop in the children the knowledge, attitude and skills that will enable them to reach their full potential. Our aim is to establish policies and practices that will develop academic, social, emotional and physical skills to enhance the health, growth and total well being of all children. 

Currently the school has eight classrooms, a new school hall (opened May 2005), a library, a resource room, a swimming pool, and a junior and senior adventure play area. There are two large grassed playing areas and a good number of trees throughout the ground.  A new administration/office area is located next to the school hall and the parking area has recently been upgraded to provide safe off road pick up and drop off zones.

Parental interest in Karaka School is high with good attendance evident at such activities as parent interviews, sports and Agricultural Days.
