Parents and caregivers can be involved in the school life of their children in many ways, from helping out with school activities and trips, parent help in the classroom, fundraising through the parent group PTA or Agricultural Day Committee, or becoming a member of the Board of Trustees.

An active PTA operates at Karaka School, meeting usually on the second Wednesday of the month at 7.00pm in the school staffroom and by zoom. All supporters of the school are most welcome at meetings – check your school newsletter for the next meeting. The meetings are a great way for parents to meet with each other and to make new friendships.

The ultimate aim of the Karaka School PTA is to support our school and our children’s education through the following activities:

* Fundraisers throughout the year
* Lunch room
* Social events
* Uniform shop

At present this is a very small group, with many of us having been on the PTA for a number of years. We would love to see some new faces. All ideas and any amount of time that you can give would be appreciated.
