Emergency Procedure
COMPLETE SCHOOL EVACUATION
In the event that the schools Evacuation Assembly Point is not suitable, or there is a risk to the students from bad weather or from the initial incident or subsequent event, then staff and students will be moved to an alternate evacuation point off site. The decision to move staff and students will be made by the school's Principal or his/her alternate.
Location
Karaka school's alternate evacuation point is Karaka War Memorial Hall Cnr Black Bridge Road and Linwood Road Karaka.
The War memorial Hall is located approx 3.9km along Black Bridge Road in a North Westerly direction.
Transport
For transport Taverner's Buses Ltd would be used, or in an emergency staff vehicles would also be utilised for transport.
Communications
A message will be left on school answer phone by office administrator.
In addition, a message will be enabled on the home page of this website.
A telephone tree system will be utilised to advise parents of the alternate evacuation site.
A message will also be tweeted from the school twitter account #nameof account#, so all those who are followers should receive the message.
A list of contact details for parents and caregivers will be taken by the school administrator.
